Ms. Coman

I have been teaching since 2010. I was born and raised in Maryland and attended Frostburg State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

In 2010, I moved to Charlotte and had my first teaching opportunity as a preschool teacher. I had a great experience teaching kindergarten at a charter school in Durham before moving to the mountains of Alleghany County. While in Alleghany County, I taught middle school(discovered that I like teaching poetry), second grade and kindergarten. Also during this time, I attended Appalachian State University and earned my master’s degree in Reading Education.

It is my passion to instill a love of learning in my students and help nurture them into being globally aware citizens.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking with my 2 corgis, exploring new places, eating pizza, and collecting dog books and Snoopy themed items.

I am so excited to be teaching at Jenkins!
